We Have A New Spare Bedroom!

Just a quick post... yet another use for our "new" used RV that we purchased awhile ago.

My sister and her husband came to visit us for a long weekend. We had the very familiar task of not only cleaning up the house and yard so that it is in a condition to receive guests, but also to shuffle items around so we could create a makeshift bedroom for them.

Before we did this though, we decided to go a different route. We pulled the RV closer to the house and made a new spare bedroom for our house guests to enjoy. This is something we've thought of doing before, but this is the first time we put those thoughts into action.

By doing this, they not only had the privacy of their own bedroom, but our house wasn't turned upside down because of having to shuffle contents or alter behaviors due to room usage issues. This made both them and us very comfortable and is definitely the route we're going to take in the future when we have overnight guests.

We Use Our RV Right Here In Town

Another way we have gotten use out of our RV is much closer to home. I have two nephews who play football. One plays at the middle school level and the other a the high school level. Last Friday night, Jakob had a game that started at 4pm and Jack's game started at 7pm. They weren't at the same field, but were adjacent to each other. We drove the RV over and parked for the evening.

Our small children had a place they could sit and play and not have to continually be reprimanded for either straying too far or annoying other people. They even got to rest after the game and also had a comfortable ride home. My sister's family thought it was great because they felt like we were tailgating at a youth football game. I cooked hamburgers and mac and cheese inside, and we set up some lawn chairs right outside the door.

The high school team won their game, but the younger fellas lost. Everyone had a good time though in my family because we had the comfort of our RV.

Another Weekend... Another RV Trip

We're keeping it short this time. We have a kind of family reunion going on over at my in-laws. Instead of sleeping on couches in the rec room or getting an expensive motel that is miles away from where we need to be, we're going to drive the RV. It's only an hour and a half from here, but we can sleep right out in front of the house and still see everyone late at night and early in the morning.

It's not camping, but it'll still be fun.

Heading Out For A Weekend In The USED RV

You know, one of the best parts about buying a used RV is the fact that my family and I are on equal ground with all of the other RVers out there. You see, the second they drive their brand new RV off of the dealer lot, they're all of a sudden driving a used RV too. ;)

We're heading out to a quiet spot along a rolling body of water that some people call a large creek and others call a small river. No fishing on this trip though, it's all about hiking during the daytime and hanging out around the campfire at night. The summer is about over but I hope this isn't the last trip with the kids.

I can tell you from personal experience that one of the best decisions I ever made was to buy a used RV for my family.

What this has allowed us to do now in the past three years was enjoy a level of togetherness and closeness that we were lacking before. We now go away on week or ten day long trips, long weekends, and even just short over-nighters.
